Our Approach to Fine Woodworking
We strongly believe in keeping alive the time-honored tradition of the craft. Old techniques and tools are combined with modern equipment and materials. As a result, we can deliver the most up to date trends in design, and recreate the old and traditional.
This holds true in our drafting department, where all renderings are hand drawn. This results in greater control over the subtle details and proportions of each piece. Many of our creations use veneers, such as crotch mahogany, exotic burls and rare tropical woods. Our philosophy is to use beautiful materials in the construction of each piece of furniture. This approach allows the wood to speak for itself. Today, painted kitchens, baths and built-in cabinets and built-in cupboards are very much in vogue. We hand paint our cabinetry with alkyd enamels. Consequently, subtle brush strokes impart a truly handmade look, and is more easily repaired than a sprayed urethane finish.
We are equally comfortable working in both traditional and contemporary styles and can design your project or work from your drawings.

Our Leadership
Brian and John have over 65 years of combined experience in fine woodworking, renovation and restoration. They compliment one another uniquely to provide their clients with design/build/installation experience that is second to none! Their skill sets are a perfect combination for creating beautiful custom cabinetry that is meticulously installed.
John opened the shop in 1986, initially doing woodwork as a marine carpenter. Among his first projects was remodeling the interiors of many of Long Island’s beautiful yachts. He then broadened his skills and became a premier furniture and cabinet maker. Since then, he has been providing many Long Island homes with magnificent kitchens, bath vanities and built-ins.
Brian has extensive woodworking and remodeling experience. He began installing kitchens and remodeling homes in the mid-1980’s. However, the creation of custom furniture and high end millwork soon became his first love. He has continued to add this work to his portfolio.
As a result of the talents and high quality output of our team, over ninety percent of our work is based on referrals from our satisfied and repeat clients.
