We are a small, custom, four-man shop, located on the north shore of Nassau county, Long Island. We are makers of fine furniture, fitted cabinetry, and architectural woodwork. We strongly believe in keeping alive the time-honored traditions of our craft. Contrary to the trend today of employing high production computerized equipment, all of our work is done by hand. We use the same basic tools, machinery and techniques that were used over one hundred years ago.

This also holds true in our design department, where all renderings are hand drawn. This allows us much greater control over the subtle details and proportions of each piece.  Many of our pieces incorporate the use of fine veneers, such as crotch mahogany, exotic burls, or rare tropical woods. Individual leaves of veneer can be matched in different ways to form striking patterns and contrasts. John learned the art of veneering and inlay from one of America’s true masters, Frank Pollaro.

Our philosophy is to use beautiful materials in the construction of a piece, and let the wood speak for itself. We do not rely heavily on stains and glazes.

While we are most comfortable working in the traditional stile, we are quite capable of executing modern and contemporary designs.
We have been in business since 1988, prior to that time, John was employed as a marine carpenter, involved in remodeling the interiors of some of Long Island’s beautiful yachts. Over ninety percent of our work is from word of mouth referrals, or repeat customers. We do not advertise.
